Doubled Donations For The Salvation Army Today

Posted: Updated:
It's a good time to give back this holiday if you haven't already done so. Donations to The Salvation Army Friday and Saturday will have double the meaning.

That's because an anonymous group of donors has pulled together 2 million dollars to match donations. The group wanted to help reach the goal The Salvation Army set for both Minnesota and North Dakota.

"This helps really with loosing those 5 days with Thanksgiving being late, and we've had some really poor weather for a few days, so this is a really good boost to finish strong, especially this really big weekend before Christmas." says Kimberly Wagner with The Salvation Army.

This year three gold coins have helped raise attention and get them closer to their goal.

The Salvation Army says they are at about 50 percent of their goal.

There are a few ways to donate: Money can be dropped in to any red kettle, call to donate at 1-800-S-A-L-ARMY or go online. We've put a direct link on our hot button.
