Take The Stress Out Of Holiday Shopping

Posted: Updated:

We are a week from Christmas, and that can put a lot of stress on people, especially shoppers.

For many of you who shopped on line Wednesday it's Free Shipping Day! More than 700 businesses nationwide are taking part in.

As time continues to tick there are other options are out there, so you can be sure you get your gifts on time, and in a stress-free manner.

Many said they used the Free Shipping Day as a time to buy the rest of their presents. But inside the mall it was busy, showing that many are sticking with tradition --and shopping 'door to door'.

"The mall you always have availability and a great selection," says Chris Heaton the West Acres Property Manager, "It's also just a great experience, you know you don't get to see Santa clause when you're shopping online."

Although the online deals are great, soon you could face spending a fortune on shipping to get it to your house on time, that's why we asked shoppers for advice to cut down on stress.

"I think if you plan ahead with some ideas, maybe get a few ideas for everybody and then come out and see what you can find." Heaton says, "If you have no idea what to get somebody, a gift card is great, and you could even package it as here's dinner and a movie."

"Stay focused, don't get distracted for things that you want for yourself, focus on people on your list." Danette Larson says.

But above all shoppers agree it's not about the gift you give, but who you spend your time with.

"I look forward to the kid's programs and all the singing, and the different programs that we're baking goodies for and to sit down with them and have some treats that we can make together." Nicole Rude says with a smile.

"I think that the holiday's is a time of giving, celebrating the birth of Jesus and hanging out with family and friends." says Tom Elmore.

West Acres does have extended hours for those who haven't gotten all their presents. December 18th-21st they are open 9am-10pm. Sunday December 22nd will be open 12pm-9pm. Monday the 23rd 9am-10pm. Christmas Eve (Dec 24th) 8am-4pm. West Acres is closed Christmas Day.
