Valley App of the Week: POF - Free Online Dating

Posted: Updated:

The holidays can be a tough time of year for some people, especially if you don't have someone to share the time with.

This week's Valley App of the Week could help you change your Facebook profile to "In A Relationship" for free.

"POF - Free Online Dating" is the app version of "Plenty of Fish," widely considered the first successful free online dating site.

With more than 55 million members POF is the world's largest dating site and the app lets you get access to your profile anytime, anywhere.

The app features pretty much everything you find on the full site version:

- Send and receive messages on the go for free.

- Message people nearby BY USING YOUR GPS

- Upload images and edit your profile.

- Discover who viewed your profile.

- Review your Matches

The app has been around for a few years, but just rolled out an upgrade in December.  Overall it's been getting positive reviews on iTunes and in the Google Play store.

One note, while the app and the site are free, you know the company has to make money some how, so expect plenty of ads.  It will also try and sell you on the "enhanced" features of an upgraded membership which as you might guess, costs extra.

If you want to download POF - Free Online Dating it's available for free on Apple and Android.
