Preparations Underway for Weekend's Concordia Christmas Concert

Posted: Updated:

Preparations are underway for this year's Concordia Christmas Concert and organizers are setting up in a new venue.  The concert was moved to the Fargo Civic Center because of roof issues at the school's memorial auditorium.

The traditional Christmas mural is now in place with bright and bold colors. On Tuesday, the Concordia crew was at the Civic Center setting up chairs and music stands and doing microphone tests.

Though the manager of the concert says they have a different to-do list because of the venue change, he says there is still fantastic interest in the long-standing tradition, and the audience will have a great view.

"With our performance at the Fargo Civic Center, one thing that is new and unique is that the seating is up in the air and the seating is so much closer to the performers," explains Gordon Moe, Manager of Concordia Christmas Concerts ."So I think it will be a much more intimate setting a lot of the seats will provide almost a birds eye view to all of the musicians and performers."

Tickets to the concerts are completely sold out, but Moe promises the show will be a great one for those lucky ticket holders.

The concert is happening December 13 at 7:00 p.m., December 14 at 2:00 and 7:00 p.m., and December 15 at 2:00 p.m. All seating is general admission.
