Semi Jackknifes East of Downer

Posted: Updated:

Wintry conditions continued to challenge motorists Thursday Morning including a semi driver whose vehicle jackknifed near mile marker 20 on I-94 just east of Downer, Minnesota; a poignant reminder to take it slow on the icy roads.

The Minnesota State Patrol and Clay County Deputies responded before 4:00 a.m. to assist the jackknifed truck that hit a car. Luckily, the truck driver and no one in the car were hurt.

Attached  to this story you can find a couple of pictures tweeted by Valley News Live's John Trierweiler from the scene.

A Travel Alert remains in effect for much of the area.  Icy conditions, blowing and drifting
snow with areas of heavy snow reducing visibility are creating hazardous driving conditions in some areas.
A  Travel Alert means conditions are such that motorists can still travel in these areas, but
are urged to use caution.
