The North Dakota State men's basketball team cruised to an 86-43 victory over NAIA opponent Valley City State on Monday, Dec. 2, inside the Bison Sports Arena. It was the third win in four days for the Bison, who were coming off a 2-0 weekend at the Cable Car Classic in Santa Clara, Calif.

Freshman Carlin Dupree and senior Marshall Bjorklund each scored 12 points to lead the NDSU attack. Lawrence Alexander chipped in 11 points, and Mike Felt had 10.

NDSU (5-3) shot 31-for-54 in the game for a 57.4-percent clip. It was the fifth time this season that the Bison shot 53 percent or better from the floor.

NDSU led from start to finish after racing out to a 24-5 advantage in the game's first eight minutes.

Valley City State (1-7) shot just 15-for-51 (29.4 percent) for the contest. Aaron Duske and Quinton Peterson both scored eight points to lead the Vikings.

Dupree scored his season-high 12 points in 23 minutes off the bench, only two days after scoring 10 points in a victory over Rider in the championship game of the Cable Car Classic. The freshman from Milwaukee, Wis., also grabbed five rebounds.

NDSU will travel to Rhode Island for a game against Bryant University on Saturday, Dec. 7, as part of the BlackRock Gotham Classic.
