Balloons Flew in Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade

Posted: Updated:

The 16 giant balloons that are a signature of the Macy's Thanksgiving day Parade flew today in New York. The balloons' use had been in question, because of possible high winds, but only calmer winds have been felt so far. New York police determined that the balloons would have to fly five feet lower than if there was no wind at all. They were followed by Tom Turkey and Dozens of other floats... 900 clowns... and marching bands.

Hundreds of thousands lined up around the manhattan parade route to enjoy the  87th Annual Holiday Tradition and of course... the star of today's parade made his grand appearance at the end. Every year Santa Claus makes that magical trip from the north pole with his reindeer... bringing cheer to all.
