Valley Today Visits The Hunter Cafe & Bakery

Posted: Updated:

Throughout November, the Valley Today has been stopping by some of our local small towns and communities in search of favorite diners and cafes of the locals.

Wednesday, The Valley Today stopped by the Hunter Cafe & Bakery in Downtown Hunter, North Dakota, which is about 35 miles north of Fargo.

Built by the community of Hunter in 1989, the cafe has been a staple on Main Street. Owned by Deb Tarvestad, for the past 11 years, The Hunter Cafe & Bakery has become known for their pies.

Tarvestad, says if you call in a pie request she can most likely make sure it's on the menu for you. On any given day there are usually 8-10 different pies on their menu, fitting with their slogan, "save room for pie."

The Hunter Bakery & Cafe is located at 105 Main St. in Hunter. Open, Monday through Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Wednesdays they stay open until 7:00 p.m. for Burger Night.

The cafe is open 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday's and 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on the first and third Sunday of each month.
