UPDATE: Deadly Shooting in Belcourt, ND

Police in Rugby, North Dakota say one person is in custody and a second suspect may be in the Minot area following a fatal shooting on the Turtle Mountain Indian Reservation.

The shooting happened at a housing complex in Belcourt early Wednesday morning. A witness told authorities that two people were arguing and one shot the other.

Road blocks were set up for a time and area schools went into lockdown.

An FBI spokesperson says he does not believe the public is in danger.

The Turtle Mountain Chippewa Reservation Emergency Manager says a shooting in Belcourt has put in the town into lockdown. 

Anita Blue confirmed at least one man was killed in a shooting early Wednesday morning at a home in Belcourt. The shooter has not yet been located. The victim's name will be released when family is notified.

As a precaution, the tribe has closed all of the schools in Belcourt. There are no classes from the Head Start level to college.

The tribal headquarters is also closed as a precaution for "safety reasons."
