Consumer Alert: Baby Monitors Recalled After 2 Babies Die

Posted: Updated:

Angelcare Monitors is recalling 600,000 of its baby monitors after the deaths of two infants due to strangulation.

The recall affects all versions of Angelcare's movement and sound monitors with sensor pads.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission says a cord attached to the sensor pad, which is placed under the mattress to monitor movement, poses a strangulation risk.

Two infants have died due to the hazard and two others were entangled in the cord, but not fatally injured.

The movement and sound monitors with sensor pads were sold from 1999 to 2013.
