Greater Moorhead Development Corp Transfers funds to Business Association

Posted: Updated:

The business community in Moorhead is hoping to grow stronger after two business groups announced a transfer of funds Wednesday morning.

"Today is a great day to do business in Moorhead and tomorrow is going to be even better."

The Greater Moorhead Development Corp transferred more than $200,000 dollars to the Moorhead Business Association at a meeting Wednesday morning. The transfer means the Business Association will be taking over, in an attempt to strengthen the business partnership in the city of Moorhead.

The goal of both groups is to make Moorhead a great place to do business.  Business Association President Les Stenerson says they now have 100 members, and the $263,616 dollars will help ensure financial security to the organization and help them solve problems in Moorhead's business sector.

"It's going to insure our financial security for many years to come and just allow us to continue on our mission and grow our membership and do great things for the city of Moorhead," Stenerson said.

Stenerson says Moorhead is already on the grow, citing a new hotel, Sam's Cub, Sanford Health, Kasey's General Store, and several restaurants in the works for downtown and south Moorhead.
