Tuesday's unique date brought a unique opportunity for brides and grooms in the area.

The numbers 11-12-13 were a prime choice for some who didn't want a traditional wedding.

Valley News Team's Kristi Larson found in the middle of the week a couple getting married because of the date.

Despite it being a Tuesday, Tiffany Bender is getting ready to walk down the aisle.

"I am the most relaxed bride, in the history of brides." Tiffany laughs.

The decision to take this date came only five weeks ago.

"Well like a month ago I was like, ‘oh 11-12-13.'  I had seen it somewhere, and was like that'd be kind of cool, so I looked it up and I was like oh that's on a Tuesday, alright let's do it!" She laughs.

Getting married on this special date was not an uncommon trend. Cass County treasurer Charlotte Sandvik had a few outdoor weddings to officiate.

"I think some of it's tradition, and for some it's an important day for them to remember." Sandvik says.

"I don't care about the date necessarily but I thought it'd be kind of fun, and easy for him to remember." Tiffany says again laughing.

Both Tiffany and her new husband, Blaine Johnson, wanted a small wedding. Their friends and family say they didn't mind taking the day off.

"We always thought she'd have the typical Friday, Saturday evening wedding, but I just knew I'd be there so it didn't matter what day of the week it was." Tiffany's Matron of Honor Erica Johnson says with a smile.

Because to them the day of the week doesn't matter, when you are marrying your best friend.

"We've been together 7 1/2 years, we knew we wanted to get married, he's my best friend, and that's all I cared about was that I was marrying him." Tiffany says.

A marriage to last a lifetime, with a date that they'll never forget.

Luckily for brides and grooms, next year's popular date of 12-13-14 falls on a Saturday. David's Bridal says they already registered 1,000 couples to get married on that day.
