The North Dakota State volleyball team swept a Summit League opponent for the second straight night on Saturday, Nov. 9, earning a 3-0 victory over Omaha inside the Bentson Bunker Fieldhouse. Set scores were 25-15, 25-21 and 25-22 in favor of the Bison.
NDSU (6-19, 6-6 Summit) has now won five of its last seven matches and claimed its four most recent victories in straight sets.
Freshman outside hitter Hadley Steffen recorded 10 kills with a .333 hitting percentage to lead the Bison attack. Sophomore Jenni Fassbender and freshman Emily Miron each registered nine kills for NDSU.
Freshman setter Monica Claxton had 35 assists, and libero Emily Milligan led the Bison with 15 digs.
Omaha (6-21, 1-11 Summit) was led by 11 kills from Megan Schmale. The Bison outhit the Mavericks .277 to .237 in the match.
NDSU led wire-to-wire in the opening set to take the 25-15 victory. Tied at 19-19 in the second set, the Bison used a 6-2 run to claim the set and take a 2-0 lead in the match.
NDSU used a 10-3 run to erase a 19-15 deficit late in the final set and close out the victory.
NDSU will conclude the regular season at IUPUI and Fort Wayne on Nov. 15-16. The Bison are already guaranteed a berth in The Summit League Tournament, which begins Nov. 22 in Indianapolis.
