Fargo North Class Holds Benefit for Classmate

Posted: Updated:

Members of Fargo North's class of '92 are banding together to help a fellow classmate going through medical issues right now. They are holding a benefit Friday night to help out Jay Jennison.

Jay is recovering from heart failure from an unknown infection and acute respiratory distress syndrome and will need a heart transplant. Because of his long recovery, the classmates hope to help with medical bills and expenses that are piling up.

The Dakota Medical Foundation is matching up to $5,000 of whatever is raised at Friday night's event. Those helping with the event say they have received a lot of support.

"We have a lot of donations gift cards, we have hockey tickets, we have Vikings tickets, we have video games, we have apparel. We have just a ton of things people can do some Christmas shopping and help a family at the same time," explains one of the event coordinators Susie Nitschke.

The free-will benefit is happening Friday night from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at El Zagal Shrine, which is at 1429 3rd Street North in Fargo.

There will be a silent auction, chili feed, and bake sale. You can donate online at www. dakmed.org/ledahand, then click "donate."  Cash/Check donations payable to Jennison Family Benefit may be sent to Bell State Bank & Trust at 3100 13th Avenue South, Fargo, ND 58103.
