Foster County Auditor and Commission Chairman Arrested

Posted: Updated:

Some trouble out of Foster County in central North Dakota. Numerous charges have been filed against county auditor Roger Schlotman and James Carr, who is the chairman of the county board of commissioners.

Complaints regarding allegations against Carr and Schlotman sparked an investigation by the North Dakota Bureau of Criminal Investigation, and search warrants were obtained. The search warrants were served on November 6, and after being interviewed the two were arrested.

The charges include misapplication of entrusted property and tampering with public records. Schlotman has since resigned as auditor.

The two were released from jail and are scheduled to be back in court in early December. No other information is being released at this time.
