Daycare Provider Accused of Being Drunk on the Job Makes Court Appearance

Posted: Updated:

A daycare owner in Moorhead who's charged with several counts of neglect or endangerment of a child makes her first court appearance Thursday.

The court ruled Jane Ann Cote can no longer operate a day care, cannot not have any drugs or alcohol and can not come in contact with the family that reported the incident.

Cote was released on her recognizance Thursday morning. Her next court appearance is set for December 19.

Jayne Cote ran the daycare out of her home. Court documents say an investigation began after a concerned parent notified Clay County social services.

When police went to her house to perform a welfare check cote's blood-alcohol level was .18, more than twice the legal limit for driving.
