Crookston voters said yes to a -6-million dollar school bond issue by a vote of 2 to one.
The vote was 824 yes to 410 no. The vote allows the school district to sell up to 6-million dollars in bonds for school repairs. Several school buildings need roof repairs, new heating boilers and a number of other repairs. The money will be added to a total 16-million dollar repair package, which is already part of the budget.
School officials say the extra money will not mean any increase in taxes for residents, because the current mortgage on the high school is being retired.
