The North Dakota State volleyball team had three players each record eight kills at Denver on Friday, Nov. 1, and the balanced Bison attack resulted in a 3-0 victory in Summit League action. Set scores were 25-20, 28-26, 25-23 in favor of NDSU.
Freshmen Hadley Steffen and Emily Miron and sophomore Jenni Fassbender each registered eight kills for NDSU. Emily Minnick and Dani DeGagne chipped in seven and six kills, respectively.
NDSU (4-18, 4-5 Summit) limited Denver to a .182 attack percentage for the match. The Bison hit .206.
Freshman libero Emily Milligan led NDSU with a season-high 24 digs. Freshman setter Monica Claxton recorded her sixth double-double of the season and her third in the last four matches with 27 assists and 13 digs.
Denver (12-11, 6-4 Summit) received 13 kills from Nola Basey.
NDSU won a pivotal second set that featured 16 ties and six lead changes. Down 25-24, the Bison received a kill from Miron to stay alive, and Claxton eventually claimed the set for NDSU with a service ace.
The Bison led 22-16 in the third set before Denver rallied to get within one point at 24-23. Miron ended the match with a kill.
NDSU will travel to South Dakota for a 2 p.m. match on Sunday, Nov. 3.
