Man Killed in Rollover Crash During High Speed Chase With Police

A Detroit Lakes, MN man is dead after a high-speed pursuit through Minnesota lakes country early Friday morning that involved a number of law enforcement agencies.

It started when Pelican Rapids Police officers were chasing a stolen vehicle heading north on Highway 59 form Pelican Rapids. The vehicle was reported stolen out of the city of Fergus Falls.

Officers say the chase reached speeds in excess of 100 mph.  Police lost sight of vehicle in the northern area of Otter Tail County near their Co. Rd. 31.  

A Becker County officer spotted the stolen vehicle heading east on Co. Rd. 22.  As the vehicle came near the intersection of Co. Rd. 22 and Co. Rd. 147, the vehicle lost control and rolled several times.

The driver was thrown from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene. No one else was in the vehicle. 

The driver was later identified as Brandon Michael Boswell from Detroit Lakes, MN.
