Police Step Up Patrol On Halloween

Posted: Updated:

As the sun sets more trick-or-treaters are beginning to go out. So police officers warn parents to keep a close eye on their kids.

"We do get the occasional pumpkin smashed or someone will steal a sign." says Sgt. Mark Lykken.

And as the night continues on, and trick-or-treaters go to bed, the police will shift gears from patrolling the neighborhoods back to the main roads.

"We will have extra officers working specifically focusing on alcohol impaired driving. Because first off we don't want to have a tragedy situation where a child's run over and hurt, and second it's just not safe at any time." Sgt. Lykken adds.

They are trying to make sure everyone has a safe but Happy Halloween.
