Beet Truck Driver Gets Wild Ride

Posted: Updated:

It was a wild ride for a sugar beet truck driver in the northern valley Thursday night.

Edward Goff of Fargo lost control of a loaded sugar beet truck he was driving just before 7 o'clock.  It happened two miles west of Fisher, Minnesota on County Road Fifteen. All rural roads in the area are covered with a thick coat of greasy mud.

Goff says he's not sure what happened. He says all of a sudden he had no control of the truck and it was on its side in the ditch. Luckily, Goff was not injured, just shaken up a bit.

Reporter: "Did you get hurt at all?"

Edward Goff: "No"

Reporter: "I imagine it was a scary ride?"

Goff: "You can imagine."

Goff was driving the truck for farmer, Kyle Haake during beet harvest. It was hard to tell in the dark how much damage the truck suffered.
