Suspects Break Into Home, Steal TV and Laptop

Posted: Updated:

The Valley City Police Department is looking for a group of people accused of breaking into a man's home and stealing his television and computer.  Just before 9:30 p.m. on October, 18 police got a call about the break in.

The homeowner, Philip Chirchir, told police he was at home watching television when someone knocked on the door. Chirchir said he did not recognize the person that he saw through the glass.  He said at the door he saw five black males and one black female, none of which he recognized.  One of the men asked if he could come in to "party."

Chirchir refused to let the people in, and says one of the men displayed a black handgun and banged on the door with it.  The homeowner went to the bathroom and called 911. While in the bathroom, he said he heard the suspects break the front door.

Once Chirchir heard the suspects leave, he came out to find his 32" flat screen TV and laptop computer missing. He says he saw the suspects leaving in a small, four door, sedan that was metallic silver.

The Valley City Police Department continues to investigate, if you know anything about this crime please contact them at 701-845-3110.
