Valley App of the Week: NFL Mobile

Posted: Updated:

While the NFL Mobile can't erase the pain of this year's Vikings season.  It can send you customized alerts the next time the Purple change quarterbacks.

NFL Mobile is totally redesigned for 2013 and packed with everything football.  Standings, stats, rosters, schedules, you can even buy a jersey or tickets to a game.

One of our favorite things is the video highlights.  The library is huge and easy to search.  It's even broken down into categories like "Top Catches" and "Can't miss plays."

NFL Mobile is also great if you're a fantasy football player.  You can set up push notifications for lineup reminders or to let you know about breaking news on injuries.  Even a heads up when your player's team enters the red zone.

If you're a Verizon customer like me you can upgrade to the "premium features." That includes live streams of NFL RedZone, live game coverage on Thursday, Sunday and Monday nights and 24-7 access to the NFL Network.

We gave the free trial and test run, but didn't feel like paying the $5 a month to keep it going.

NFL Mobile is free to download on Apple and Android phones and tablets.
