It's a one of a kind partnership, called, "Grand Sky". The Grand Forks County Commission will sign a deal with the Air Force to start a tech park at the Air Base.
The deal will let Grand Forks County rent 217 acres at the Air Base for businesses connected to the UAS industry.
A developer will actually run the business park and take over the financing. It will rent space to aerospace companies like Northrop Grumman, that's already interested in setting up shop here. Plus, there could be many other businesses connected to the industry that might want to locate at the Base.
John Schmisek, G.F. County Commissioner: "There's the potential of developing the business park to try and cover all of that technology, including the sensor development, training, those types of things."
The tech park at the Grand Forks Base could be up and running by 2015.
