Teens get Truck Stuck on Washed out Road

Posted: Updated:

With heavy rain saturating the ground, and more rain this week, the rivers are rising over some roadways.  Elm Street in north Fargo is closed and three teenagers ran into some trouble Thursday night in rural Cass County.

Cass County authorities are sending out a warning not to drive through water over the roadway.  Three teens got a pickup truck stuck about 4:45 p.m. Thursday after trying to cross a water-covered road.

Corporal Jade Van Den Einde says, "There are road closed signs on each side of this 'Texas Crossing.' This F-250 was found in the middle of that...stalled and the water was deep and it was at the top of the hood..there were three juveniles in the vehicle. The passerby that called 9-1-1 and that when we got involved."

The pickup stalled in three to four feet of water on 50th Street southeast, which is about one mile west of Oxbow and two miles north. No one was hurt.
