Posted: Updated:

UPDATE: Xcel Energy says all 1,688 south Fargo customers left in the dark this morning were back on line by 7:13 a.m. Outage was caused by a bad underground cable.

Xcel says the outage was south of the Fargo water treatment plant down toward the Lindenwood Park area.

ORIGINAL STORY: We're getting word in the Valley News Live newsroom of power outages in south Fargo.

It sounds like the trouble is in the area near Lindenwood Park, but there's no word yet on how widespread it is, what the cause is or when power will be restored.

We have calls into Xcel Energy and are waiting for details.
