Man Arrested in Connection with Counterfeit Money in the Area

Police have arrested a man who they believe is connected with distributing counterfeit money. On Monday, October 14, Justin Samuel Rivett Goldstein was arrested on Gross Misdemeanor charges of possessing and distributing counterfeit money.

The a 24-year-old Moorhead man was taken to the Clay County Jail with a long form complaint pending from the Clay County Attorney's Office.

Moorhead Police responded to the South Walgreens Sunday afternoon on a report of a $50 and one $20 counterfeit bills.  Through surveillance videos and on-going investigation, police believe Goldstein is the one responsible for passing the bills.

When closely examined, the paper of this group of counterfeit bills is subpar. It is unknown how many bills have been passed by this suspect or others in our area.  Anyone that is concerned or believes they may possess a counterfeit bill is asked to contact their local law enforcement agency.
