Bison Pull Away Late Defeat South Dakota State 20-0
Top-ranked and two-time defending national champion North Dakota State scored two fourth-quarter touchdowns to shed No. 6 South Dakota State 20-0 in Missouri Valley Football Conference play Saturday before a record crowd of 16,489 at Coughlin-Alumni Stadium.
The Bison (4-0) ran their overall win streak to 13 and their series win streak to five while becoming the first visitor to post a shutout in Brookings since 1991.
The Jackrabbits (3-2) finished with minus-32 yards rushing and didn't convert a first down in the second half until the final 5 minutes.
At the break, NDSU had a 177-104 edge in yards and a 19:00-11:00 advantage in time of possession. That's despite committing more mistakes than usual, mostly on penalties and errant snaps.
Zenner finished with seven carries for 2 yards. He came in averaging 185.
