ND Today - Tailgating Fun with Dustin Mitzel

  Sangria Slush 

8 ounce can crushed pineapple

2½ cups dry red wine

1 ½ cups orange juice

½ cup sugar

½ cup lemon juice 

1)    Several hours before serving (preferably the night before) blend pineapple, dry red wine, orange juice, lemon juice and sugar in a blender at high speed for 20-30 seconds.

2)    Be sure all sugar is dissolved

3)    Pour mixture in a 9 by 9 baking dish or something similar

4)    Freeze mixture in freezer

5)    When ready to serve, take pan from freezer and let stand at room temp until softened.

Stir with a spoon until semi-thawed then spoon into wine glass or for tailgating, plastic cups!!


Beergarita (Blender version)

          4 serving recipe 

          4 ounces Tequila

          4 ounces Triple Sec

          4 ounces Lime Juice

          4 12 ounce Corona's 

          Mix all ingredients except beer in a blender with ice.  After blending pour into a pint glass (or 16 ounce plastic cup), then add the Corona over the top, garnish with a slice of lime.


Beergarita (non Blender version)

          8 servings 

          1 can frozen Limeade

          12 ounces Lemon Lime soda

          12 ounces Corona

          12 ounces Tequila

          3 fresh limes

          Coarse Salt 

1)    Fill pitcher halfway with ice and add Limeade

2)    Fill empty limeade can with Tequila (12 ounces) and pour into pitcher.

3)    Add bottle of Corona

4)    Add Lemon Lime soda, stir again and taste, if strong add more soda

5)    Cut 2 limes in half and squeeze into the pitcher.

6)    To prepare glasses run a cut lime around the rim of the glass and dip it in coarse salt, then pour Beergarita in and enjoy

7)    If tailgating skip step 6 and just drink out of plastic cupJ


Grape Ice cubes 

                Freeze grapes a day or two before event, then add them to your white or rose wine to keep cold!  They won't dilute your wine and are  fun to snack on.
