Dilworth Police Chief Resigns

Posted: Updated:

DILWORTH, MINN. - Police chief Josh Ebert has formally stepped down from his post.

According to Dilworth mayor Chad Olson, Ebert turned in a letter of resignation Monday afternoon prior to a meeting of the Dilworth city council.

Ebert's resignation comes after months of unrest going back to December of 2012 when a group of officers lodged formal complaints against Ebert's leadership and job performance.

In Monday's meeting, council members granted Ebert four additional months of salary.

Ebert said in his resignation letter, he is thankful to the mayor and the city for allowing him time to increase his skills and competence.
