Walk of Hope

Posted: Updated:

Today a group stood up to break the silence of suicide. The 13th annual Walk for Hope brings those who've lost loved ones from suicide together.

According to USA Suicide data, each person that is lost to suicide affects at least 6 other people. One person kills themselves almost every 13 minutes, and there's one attempt every 32 seconds.

White roses were given and laid down for those not around today.

"They can feel the pain, they can be in a safe place to share the memories of the person they've lost to suicide. And also help the community understand that every time we step up, it helps somebody at risk of suicide, we're saving lives." says FirstLink's Stacie Loegering.

This year nearly 50 people walked in remembrance of someone.
