Fargo Man Arrested in Canada After Chase Across Border

Posted: Updated:

WINNIPEG (KFGO AM) -- A Fargo man who police say flew through a Canadian border crossing in a stolen truck and then disappeared following a high-speed chase, has been arrested just west of Winnipeg.

Twenty-nine-year-old Joshua Grandbois was tracked down by Mounties using a police dog in a wooded area and is due to make a court appearance in Winnipeg today. He's facing a number of charges, including motor vehicle theft, dangerous driving and violations of the Canadian Customs Act.

Mounties started the hunt for Grandbois after he made a dramatic and illegal entry into Canada, north of Rolla, in a stolen car, while being chased by North Dakota authorities. That vehicle was later found abandoned.

He's accused of stealing two more vehicles in Canada before he was arrested.

Grandbois is expected to face deportation to the U.S. to face charges as well.
