Longest-Serving ND District Judge Retiring

Posted: Updated:

GRAND FORKS, ND (KFGO AM) -- The longest serving district judge on the bench in North Dakota is retiring after 34 years.

Saying goodbye to friends and colleagues is bittersweet for Judge Joel Medd of Grand Forks, as he leaves a job he truly loves. Medd says he's had a front row seat to some of the most interesting cases ever.

Judge Medd's last day is September 1st, but he will still finish up several larger cases he's been working on.

He says he's ready to spend quality time with family, fix up a few cars and do volunteer work.
