Busy Morning for Moorhead Fire

Posted: Updated:

It was a busy Saturday morning for Moorhead firefighters after they battled two separate fires in less than a half hours' time.

The first fire call came in at 6:49 this morning, at 123 Mayfair Drive. Crews arrived to find a mobile home on fire, spreading to neighboring mobile homes. One neighbor suffered a minor cut to her knee after running from her house, no one else was injured.

The mobile home is a total loss; no one was home at the time of the fire.

Crews were in the process of knocking down that fire when a call came in to 1901 20th St. South for a fire in an apartment. Firefighters arrived to find heavy smoke coming from a third floor apartment.

Moorhead Assistant Fire Chief, Jeff Wallin, says those living in the building were able to put the fire out with a fire extinguisher and get everyone out safely.

Both fires remain under investigation by the Moorhead Fire Department.
