Potato Days 2013 Gets Underway

Starting Friday, the annual Potato Days Festival in Barnesville, Minnesota gets underway with over 50 'spud'tacular events.

It's estimated that over 17,000 people will attend this years festival, taking part in a variety of events throughout the town.

Some of the most popular events include: mashed potato wrestling, national lefse cook off, mashed potato eating contest and Miss Tater Tot contest.

The event is Friday to Saturday. Friday's activities start at 9 a.m. through 9 p.m. On Saturday, the festival starts at 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. with a street dance afterward until 1 a.m.

    A Grand Forks man has been arrested for DUI after injuring himself and one other in a crash early Sunday morning. The Grand Forks Police Department says Charles Engen, 48, was driving a Ford F150 through the intersection of 28th Avenue South and South Washington Street when he hit a Chevrolet Monte Carlo. Jessica Borowicz, 27, of Grand Forks was driving the Monte Carlo. The crash happened just after 2 am.An ambulance took Borowicz to the hospital for minor injuries.Engen faces DUI charges.The...
