More than a 100 MSU-Moorhead students were evacuated early Friday morning because of a nearby fire.

Moorhead firefighters were called around 3 a.m. The fire started in the 700 block of 14th street south.

Construction material started on fire and authorities were worried about toxic fumes and evacuated the area. Firefighters say when they arrived a pile of roofing and insulation were fully engulfed in flames.

Three dorms were evacuated  to try to keep the students away from the fire. No one was hurt. Investigators are still looking into what may have caused the fire.
