Glass Paper Project Brings Tablets to Students

Posted: Updated:

Some new technology is popping up in Fargo classrooms this year. The school district is providing every sophomore, junior, and senior with a tablet through the "Glass Paper Project".

Students will be able to view electronic textbooks and complete course-work assigned by their teachers. District leaders says the purpose behind this project is to ensure students have 21st century skills.

"We have aspirations for students being collaborative and using different resources for communication and other things and we just it's difficult to do that in a real meaningful way without the tools of today," explains Jodell Teiken, director of instructional resources at Fargo Schools.

The district is also piloting tablets with sixth graders. Their goal is to have tablets for every student in grades 6 through 12 within the next two to five years.
