Two Semi Drivers Killed in Fiery Crash

Posted: Updated:

Two men died in a fiery crash in Barnes County on Wednesday. It happened at the intersection of North Dakota Highway 1 and 46 east of Litchville, North Dakota, according to Barnes County Sheriff Randy McClaflin.

Highway Patrol Sgt. Tom Herzig says the driver of an eastbound semi failed to stop at a stop sign and collided with the northbound semi. Witnesses say the impact from the crash flipped one of the trailers in mid-air severing power lines.

Witnesses say a fire engulfed both semi tractor trailers shortly after the crash around 9am Wednesday morning. The drivers were pronounced dead at the scene and both vehicles were destroyed by the fire.
