Asking For A Visit From Taylor Swift

Posted: Updated:

Another shout out to a Celebrity, but this time the video was made right here in the Valley. One group is asking Taylor Swift to come to their 5K run and walk,  to help raise awareness about disabilities.

This group of dancers shown in the video are part of Creative Care for Reaching Independence or CCRI.

"It's important for people to see what we do in the community." says CCRI Executive Director Shannon Bock, "but it is also to help us fundraiser so we can provide some of the great activities we provide for the folks in our community."

This will be the seventh annual walk 'n' roll-a-thon, but this year they thought a big star might help catch some attention. The group noticed Taylor schedule that she'll be in town the day after their walk. Now they hope they will hear their 'shout outs' and come to their walk.

"It was anything you could put together, any video I figured since we're part of greater Moorhead days this year, that I'd be cool to make it a community thing." says JC Malmgren who made the video.

They gained support from prominent members in the community, even the Moorhead Mayor shows off his moves in the video.

"I think all of them were neat, they have unique style." Nicole Atherton laughs.

And the groups dream seems a little closer after making some calls.

"We've actually heard on Friday that we've had some contacts with her and they're going to share a message with her so we're very hopeful that this is going to happen." Shannon says.

So far views are reaching 3,300 and counting. They say each one makes a difference in trying to reach Taylor Swift.

The Creative Care for Reaching Independence works to help disabled adults live on their own. Their 5k run and walk 'n' roll-a-thon is on September 5th.
