1 Dead, 1 Injured in Double Shooting at Minneapolis Champions Sports Bar & Grill

Police say one man is dead and another is injured after a shooting at a south Minneapolis sports bar Thursday morning.

The shooting happened around 12:30 a.m. at the Champions Sports Bar & Grill at the corner of Lake Street and Blaisdell Avenue. When officers arrived on the scene, they found a 51-year-old male with what they say was a life-threatening gunshot wound inside the bar.

The victim was taken to Hennepin County Medical Center (HCMC) where he passed away about seven hours later.

The second victim was also taken to HCMC with a non-life threatening gunshot wound.

No one is in custody in connection with this incident and no arrests have been made at this time.

Anyone with information on this shooting is asked to contact the Minneapolis Police TIPS line at 612-692-TIPS (8477).

The identity of the deceased victim will be released at a later time by the Hennepin County Medical Examiner's Office.
