Push for Lawmakers to Match Federal Aid for June Storm Damage

Posted: Updated:

Minnesota's Governor is pushing lawmakers to get together for a special session and agree to match the federal disaster aid that's helping fix major damage from June storms that hit 18 counties.

But Dayton said Tuesday he won't open the door to other initiatives that could make an emergency session unwieldy.

Dayton's administration has asked legislative leaders to help work out an agreement before he would call a session.

State and Federal officials are in Wilkin County Wednesday, one of the areas hit hardest by those storms.

They'll meet with local leaders about available Federal recovery money.

Wolverton got 9 inches of rain in just 4 hours back on June 26th. Washing out roads and flooding several homes.
