Neighbor Helps Man Out Of Home During Fire

Posted: Updated:

Moorhead Fire Crews were kept busy Sunday after another garage fire.

Just after 8:30 Sunday evening crews were called to 3806 Village Green Drive where a garage was engulfed in flames.

Neighbor Adam Olson noticed the smoke and ran into the home to warn the owner. The man was home at the time in the kitchen unaware of the fire. Olson helped the man out of his home.

Firefighters extinguished the fire within ten minutes of arriving, but the garage was completely destroyed along with some of the inside of the home. This fire was the second they were called to Sunday and with in 5-6 hours of each other.

"It's a little rare to have a second garage fire like this in the same afternoon, but we're not looking at them being related." says Moorhead Assistant Chief Greg Doeden.

Investigators were on the scene Sunday evening to look for what caused the fire. The homeowner was taken away by ambulance.
