Construction Worker Hurt at Fargo Dig Site

Posted: Updated:

Scary moments at a South Fargo construction site this morning after a worker was nearly buried alive. It happened at 6091 56th Avenue South in Fargo, at a residential construction site.

A worker was working on pipe in a 10-12 foot deep pit when the walls around him collapsed, burying him up to his neck in dirt.

Fellow workers helped dig him out and rescue him. The worker was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The pit was being dug by F-M Excavating out of Moorhead. Neighboring construction workers say F-M Excavating crews weren't using any bracing or proper safety equipment that would've prevented a collapse.
