38th Annual Street Fair Kicks Off

Posted: Updated:

For the 38th year, downtown Fargo will be full of food, shopping and fun. As 285 vendors have taken over the streets in downtown.

Over the three day festival 120,000 - 140,000 people are expected at the street fair. Going "green" this year is a priority for organizers and several sustainable options have been put in place to achieve that goal.

Minnkota Recycling will provide recycling canisters throughout the street fair to help keep unnecessary waste out of landfills. Thanks to a partnership with the City of Fargo, vendors and artists will also have an opportunity to recycle cardboard which is a major source of the waste from the event.

MATBUS is also helping to reduce fuel emissions by providing service for a discounted fare of $1 on Thursday, Friday and also providing a Fare Free Saturday.

Also new this year will be a breastfeeding station sponsored by Sanford Women's to provide a convenient and comfortable place for mothers to breastfeed, change their babies and re-hydrate. The tent is located on the corner of Broadway & 3rd Ave. and open all hours of the street fair.

Since heat is also a concern for visitors to the street fair, Scheels will provide a misting tent to cool off. Visitors are also encouraged to drink plenty of water and stay hydrated, even take a shopping break inside the air conditioned permanent downtown shops.

Street Fair Hours:

Thursday and Friday: 10:00am - 9:00pm

Saturday: 10:00am - 5:00pm
