Five people were hurt when a passenger bus went off the road and into a field near Valley City Monday morning.

The driver of the Jefferson Lines bus told police that the brakes failed while he was trying to exit Interstate 94 at Valley City about 5 a.m. Monday.

5 people were transported to Mercy Hospital and treated for minor non-life threatening injuries.

The bus is owned by Jefferson Partners based out of Minneapolis.
