Early Morning Apartment Fire

Fargo firefighters responded to a report of a fire at 702 21 St. S. early Sunday morning.  The fire began just after at 7:00 a.m. 

Resident Alex Anderson says he and his family were sleeping when the fire broke out. He smelled smoke and woke his girlfriend. They went to investigate and saw smoke and flames coming from the back of the home.  Anderson, his girlfriend, and their one-year old daughter all got out safely.

Fire fighters quickly extinguished the fire. The damage was limited to the outside of the rear of the building. The main electrical was damaged along with the rear entry and small deck.

Fire investigators listed the fire as accidental and the cause as electrical. Damage is estimated at $25,000.00. Excel Energy was called to the scene to disconnect the electricity.
