Shots Fired Into East Grand Forks Home

  Police are investigating an early morning incident in the northern valley that could have easily turned deadly.

 

  Several shots were fired into this home at 1016 20th St. N.W in East Grand Forks, just before 2 o'clock Friday morning. There are bullet holes in the side of the home and its front windows.

  Police say the home owner, Mike Couatte was home alone at the time of the shooting and was not injured. Police say the shooter was likely targeting another family member, who was not in the home. No further details are being released.

  Neighbors on either side of the home and across the street say they didn't hear a thing.

 

Russell Wollin, Neighbor: "What gunfire? I don't know what you're talking about."

Reporter: "The house across the street has a bunch of bullet holes in it."

Wollin: "Is that right?"

Reporter: "Have you had anything like that happen in the neighborhood before?"

Wollin: "No, not to my knowledge. I've lived here for 40 years."

    Beltrami Fire Department says part of a business is destroyed after an early morning fire. Firefighters say they were called out around 1:00 a.m. to a fire at the Beltrami Mall.  Crews say West Central
