Hundreds Evacuated in MN Apartment Fire

Posted: Updated:

From Kare 11 TV--Dozens of fire crews spent the early morning hours battling a large apartment fire in Plymouth.

Flames broke out around 4:00 a.m. Friday morning at the Vicksburg Village Apartments off Rockford Road and Vicksburg Lane.

One building at the complex was evacuated.

The second floor, third floor and roof of that building has significant damage.

Officials say a few residents were treated for smoke inhalation, but no one needed to be hospitalized.

Police also say they didn't have to physically rescue anyone but some people were initially reluctant to leave due to previous false alarms.

Plymouth's Fire Chief says the initial call at 3 a.m. Friday involved a fire in an air conditioning unit.
Kline says fire officials will allow residents to temporarily return to their homes to collect essential belongings.

The cause of the fire is being investigated.
