A former Fargo couple, who've spent their lives helping others, now find themselves in a life and death battle with cancer.
Pastor Corey Fuhrman is currently serving in Bemidji. He's the former pastor at First Lutheran and Living Waters churches in Fargo.
Pastor Corey Fuhrman: "The doctor said, I can't tell you what's going to happen."
Kelly was a teacher at Glyndon-Felton. She's a life long, non-smoker, who's now battling lung cancer.
Kelly Fuhrman: "I didn't do anything. I didn't smoke. I felt like I followed all the rules in life. But, I guess this is a test in my faith and that God is going to see me through this. Yeah, my attitude is staying positive. I want to beat it. That's my goal."
Kelly is currently undergoing chemo-therapy treatments in Rochester every 3 weeks. They are a couple determined on being here to raise their 3 children.
Pastor Corey Fuhrman: "You can't listen to the negative pieces. You have to stay focused on the good."
Kelly Fuhrman: "Yeah, my priorities have changed, my priorities in life and I realize each day is a gift. And I don't take it for granted and I'm enjoying each moment, because right now I don't know what's going to happen."
Now if you'd like to show the Fuhrman's your support and help them with their financial expenses, a benefit dinner and silent auction is being held this Saturday in Fargo from 3 to 8 PM at the El Zagal Shrine in north Fargo.
