Cherries For Charity Begins

It's that time of year, for the 31st annual Cherries for Charity raising money for the YWCA of Cass and Clay Counties along with the Rape and Abuse Crises Center.

Since 1982 Cherries for Charity has raised more than $289,000 selling over One Million pounds of cherries. This year, Hornbachers has increased the donation amount from 25 cents for every pound sold to 50 cents donated for every pound sold.

The sale brings the Washington Bing cherries down from a price of $4.99/lb. to $1.98/lb. running through July 16th at all six Fargo-Moorhead Hornbacher locations.

Cherry Lemonade Slush

1 1/2 cups lemonade
1 cup fresh Stemlit cherries, pitted with stems removed
1 tsp. sugar
2 cups ice, crushed
1 cup lemon lime soda, optional

DIRECTIONS:

Combine the first 4 ingredients into a blender and mix until desired consistency. Add lemon lime soda (optional) just before serving, stir well.
